Bandar Sunway, December 18 2012 ~ The Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) Selangor chapter recently launched its official website, www.mcpf-selangor.org. The objective of the MCPF website is to enable the public to have a one stop digital platform with convenient access to useful crime prevention information, tips and tricks to prevent crime. The website will also update information on regularly held crime prevention public events like crime prevention talks, meetings, seminars, conferences, forum, and exhibitions which the public can attend for free.
Useful tips on crime prevention such as do’s and don’ts such as, “do not hang handbags on the shoulder to prevent injuries from being snatched and dragged,” and “take note of the direction where the perpetrator heads to in order to aid the police” are amongst the information shared on the website.
The website also features the crime prevention docu-drama produced during Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah’s tenure with the assistance of the Royal Malaysian Police and the Selangor state government, highlighting how the public can help by providing crucial information to the police when witnessing a suspicious activity or when they are caught in a life-threatening situation.
“I hope that through the website, we can reach more people more effectively and further encourage the mobilization of Selangor state citizens to take action at the community level to prevent crime,” said Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah, AO, the Selangor MCPF Chairman who is also the Founder and Chairman of Sunway Group.
He added that the second phase of the website development will include social media tools such as Facebook and Twitter to further galvanize the community to come together to prevent crime.
Since his appointment as the Chairman of the MPCF Selangor, Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah has championed Crime Prevention activities in the State of Selangor with the assistance of Royal Malaysian Police Force.
