Why “Sunway Memories”?
“Sunway Memories” was born from the aspiration of the many pictures posted by our valued visitors in the many online picture library and social networking sites. It is in our own way to say thank you and may many more memories be generated from Sunway.

 

Who is eligible to participate in this photography contest?
Basically everyone (except Members of the organizing committee and their immediate family members from Sunway) is eligible to participate.

 

What are my chances of winning?
That depends upon the content, composition, quality, technique and creativity in the photography in relation to the theme “Sunway Memories”. It can be the themed architecture alone or lifestyle of visitors or mixture of both. In the event of a tie, the winner shall be determined by its date of entry. If you submit your photo early, you would get higher chances of winning.

 

How do I participate in this photography contest?
Firstly, you have to register as our Sunway World Club member.

Secondly, if you have registered as Sunway World Club member, you may submit your photographs online.

 

How do I submit a photo?
You must login with your registered username and password to submit your photos from the Submit Photo page.

Before you submit a photograph, please make sure it meets the following requirements:
* JPG or JPEG file format (eg. sunwaymemories.jpg or sunwaymemories.jpeg).
* Each photo, the file size is not larger than ONE (1) megabyte.

 
What is a participant tag?
A participant tag enables you to access to all the participating locations to take photographs. It also enables you to enter to certain locations that required entrance fees.
 
Is it a compulsory to get a participant tag?
It is not compulsory. However, we encourage every participant to wear their participant tag when taking photographs to avoid any unforeseen security hindrances.
 

How do I get a participant tag?
You need to register to get a participant tag. Please click here to register for participant tag. You need to select the location of where to collect your participant tag from the page.
You can select one of the following locations to collect your participant tag:

  1. Concierge Counter, Lower Ground 1, Blue Zone, Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall.
  2. Concierge Counter, Upper Ground Floor, Sunway Carnival Shopping Mall.
  3. Reception Counter, Lost World of Tambun
 
Can I register the participant tag at any collection counters?
No. You must register the participant tag online.
 
I have registered for the participant tag. When can I collect the participant tag?
You may collect the participant tag from Monday, 18th August 2008 onwards within the business hours of the locations as below:

  1. Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall
    Business Hours: 10 am - 10 pm
  2. Sunway Carnival Shopping Mall
    Business Hours: 10am - 10pm
  3. Lost World Of Tambun
    Business Hours: 11am - 6pm
 
I have collected my participant tag. When can I start taking photographs?
You may start to take photographs anytime after you have collected your participant tag.
 
Are there any restricted places that I need to be aware of?
Yes. There are certain places are restricted from taking photo. Therefore, kindly check with the security or concierge personnel who is on duty before taking photographs.
 
I have photographs taken at participating locations before. Can I submit them?
Yes. You can submit photographs you have taken before. However, most of our buildings structures have refurbished and thus, we encourage you to submit the most recent photo for higher chance of winning.
 
Is there a limit to the number of photos I can upload?
No. You can upload as many photos as you like.
 
What format should I save my digital images?
You should submit JPEG images saved with max quality compression with a long dimension at 300 dpi in RGB or CMYK color.
 
What types of image files can I submit?
Images must be in JPEG or JPG format when submitting online. Use the photo editing software that came with your camera or scanner to save your photo in the JPEG format. When you are notified to submit your photographs in a CD-ROM, it can be in JPEG, JPG or TIFF format.

No digital super imposition/composition is allowed. However, minor image touch-up such as adjustment of brightness of colour and softening or sharpening of the image as well as infrared effect is allowed.
 
Can I submit photographs in black and white?
Photographs in black and white are acceptable.
 
I have uploaded a photo. Why isn't it showing up?
All photographs go through an approval process before they appear on the site. If you've uploaded an image that falls into a term we don't accept (as specified in the rules and regulations page), we won't approve it. Otherwise, it will show up in the photo gallery once it is approved.
 
There’s an error message appeared while uploading the photo. What should I do?
Kindly print screen the error message and e-mail to worldclub@sunway.com.my. Otherwise, please call our customer service line 603 - 56398798 from Mondays to Fridays, 9.00 am – 6.00 pm (not applicable during public holidays). Our team will be happy to assist you.
 
How do I know if my photograph is short listed?
We will notify the photographer of short listed photographs via e-mail or phone within 2 weeks after the contest ends. If you do not receive any notification after 2 weeks, your photographs are not short listed and we thank you for your participation.

Kindly be informed that any short listed photograph is required to submit a CD-ROM (jpeg or TIFF format only) of images with size of no smaller than 8 Megabytes each.
All short listed entries must be named as per photographs' filename submitted online.

When does this photography contest end?
The contest ends at 31st December 2008.
 
My photographs have been short listed and I have submitted the CD. How do I know if I have won any prizes?
Winner will be contacted via e-mail or phone within 2 weeks after the deadline of CD submission. If you do not receive any notification after 2 weeks, it means you have not won any prizes. We truly appreciate your participation in this contest.
