Rules and Regulations

1. Participation

a)	Open to all Malaysians and Foreign visitors. All staffs of The Sunway Group are encouraged to participate.

b)	Members of the organizing committee and their immediate family members from Sunway are not allowed to participate in this competition.

c)	All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules.

d)	All the photographs must be taken within the following locations:

	Sunway Lagoon Resort Menara Sunway Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa Sunway Pyramid Sunway Lagoon Theme Park Sunway University College Sunway Medical Centre Sunway Lagoon Club Sunway Lost World of Tambun Sunway Carnival Mall Sunway Hotel, Seberang Jaya Sunway Hotel, George Town Sunway Hotel Phnom Penh Sunway Hotel Hanoi Monash University, Sunway Campus

	In certain restricted areas, participants are responsible to seek permission from the security or concierge personnel before taking any photographs.

e)	Proof of posting is not proof of receipt

f)	Entries:-

	Entries should be submitted to the published postal address. Participants will need to register online

	All entries must be submitted online at a file size of no larger than 1MB. All short listed entries must be submitted by hand or by post on a CD-ROM (jpeg or TIFF format only) containing the shortlisted photograph. The size of the image shall be no smaller than 8MB and in 300dpi. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. The CD must be labeled with the entrant’s name, entrant’s NRIC / passport number, entrant’s registered username and email address. Entries will not be returned. All short listed entries must be named as per photographs' filename submitted online.

g)	Contestants can send in as many entries as they wish. However, a participant can only win one (1) prize.

h)	Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.

i)	In the event of a tie, the winner shall be determined by its date of entry.

j)	No digital super imposition/composition is allowed. However, HDR photography is permitted.

k)	Minor image touch-up is allowed and these include adjustment of brightness of colour and softening or sharpening of the image.

l)	All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Participants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it

m)	By entering in to this contest, you will agree to receive e-newsletters from The Sunway Group on latest events and promotions.

n)	The organizing committee reserves the right to amend, delete or add to the above Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.

o)	In the events of discrepancy, the English version of the Rules and Regulations will prevail.

2. Assessment

a)	The judging of this competition will be based on content, composition, quality, technique and creativity in the photography in relation to the theme “Sunway Memories”.

b)	The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entertained.

c)	Winners will be notified by telephone or via email. Prizes must be collected personally.

d)	Prize not collected within given time and date will be forfeited.

e)	Top 3 and merits prize winners will be notified to attend prize giving ceremony. The cost of travelling will be borne by the winners

f)	Sunway reserves the right to substitute the prizes with equivalent value.

g)	By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to allow his/her name or photographs to be published on Sunway websites and other media like newspapers, magazines, newsletter and other related medium.

3. Ownership

a)	Copyright of all images submitted for this competition shall remain with the respective participants.

b)	However, in consideration of their providing the Competition, each participant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual license to The Sunway Group to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition within that time period.

c)	The owners of winning photographs shall grant the copyright of their winning pictures to The Sunway Group.

d)	All photographs for the competition will not be returned and shall remain the property of The Sunway Group.

e)	The Sunway Group shall be allowed to keep, exhibit and make copies of all photographs without prior consent or payment to participant for non commercial usage.

f)	In the event that a non-winning photograph is used for commercial purpose in the likes of billboards, posters, brochures, leaflets and advertisement, the owner of the photograph shall be paid a nominal sum of RM300 for the rights of use in whatever form or manner.

g)	Contestants will be responsible for any talent fees incurred. The Sunway Group will not be liable for any claims from talents as a result of this competition.

4. Risk & Liability

The Sunway Group will not be held liable in the event of loss, personal injury, or death as a result of participation in this competition.

5. Closing Date

The closing date of this competition is 31st December 2008. All entries must be received by the advertised closing time and date.

By participating in this, participants agree to be bound by these rules and regulations as well as the decisions made by Sunway and the panel of judges. The organizers have the right to substitute the prizes with equivalent value.
