Mall Brings Joy to Old Folks on Parents’ Day. |

The old folks at Joy Garden Semenyih were treated to delicious healthy cupcakes recently in a surprise visit by celebrity Chermaine Poo and a few of Sunway Pyramid’s Leo Cub members. |

The surprise visit was organised in conjunction with Parents’ Day, usually celebrated in the month of July. Sunway Pyramid had earlier celebrated Mother’s Day and Father’s Day in May and June respectively, collaborating with Chermaine Poo this year to give out her specially baked cupcakes to shoppers. Shoppers who spent more than RM200 in a single receipt were entitled to a box of cupcakes during the Mother's Day and Father's Day weekends, and the proceeds go to the home. We raised RM8,000 in just 4 days. |

In addition to the RM8, 000, the shopping mall then decided to celebrate Parents’ Day with the old folks and brought along several Leo Cubs to help Chermaine decorate her cupcakes with fruits and to mingle with the old folks. Sunway Pyramid also gave each of the residents goodie bags.

Chermaine baked approximately 50 oat cupcakes and Sunway Pyramid brought fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, kiwi and grapes.
There were also colourful chocolate sprinkles and a variety of fruit jam for the Leo Cubs to garnish on the cupcakes. |
