Sunway Medical Centre was certified to ISO 9001:2000 standards in May 2003 and has achieved the ISO 9001:2008 certification in August 2009. This certification was awarded by the UK-based SGS International Certification Services. This certification means that Sunway Medical Centre's Quality Management System and healthcare processes have been objectively evaluated and found to conform to worldwide standards for service and process consistency, as well as continuous improvement.
The ISO 9001:2000 certification was awarded together with the prestigious HealthMark Logo, which is recognized in Europe. Sunway Medical Centre’s strong showing in the October 2004 certification and surveillance evaluation by an International Accreditation Body comprising of healthcare professions from from New Zealand and Thailand is a tribute to the diligence and attention to detail that are hallmarks of our healthcare employee workforce.
The recertification from ISO 9001:2000 to ISO 9001:2008 which is a process based approach assessment shows the continuous improvement initiatives undertaken by Sunway Medical Centre in enhancing patient safety.
