The Sunway Group strongly believes that the business community
should reinvest a portion of its earnings in social development.
As a responsible corporate citizen, the Group always seeks avenues
in which it can contribute to the community through four areas
- social responsibility programs, nation-building activities,
environmental conservation and community lifestyles enhancement.
In kind or in strength, through grants and sponsorships, The
Sunway Group has always participated, supported and organised
various community and charity programmes.
EDUCATION
The Sunway Group is committed to provide young people with opportunities to excel. Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr Jeffrey Cheah, Sunway University College's Foundation Chancellor placed the institution under a trust administered by a Board of Trustees in 1997. All profits from the university college are ploughed back for the benefit of the students, provision of quality education and facilities upgrade. The Sunway Education Trust Fund has awarded more than RM24.6 million of scholarships to thousands of students.
HUMANITARIAN
The Sunway Group is committed to improving the quality of life
our communities. We believe that being involved means more than
making financial and material contributions.In 1995, the Group
sponsored the completion cost amounting to RM2 million for the
construction of Sekolah Menengah Bandar Sunway after it was
abandoned midway by a previous developer.
Our sponsorship programmes are designed to support and encourage
activities that help to make a difference. In recent years we
have continuously contributed to the welfare of the environment,
health and the underprivileged. The Sunway Group's sports club,
Kelab Sukan Sunway also plays a significant role in supplementing
the Group's philanthropic deed. The club has organised various
community services such as treasure hunt, blood donation drives
and visits to homes of the underprivileged.

RECYCLING
The Sunway Group is committed to improve the welfare of
the environment. In response to the government's call
for greater environmental consciousness, the Group had
embarked on a recycling project since 2003. Recycling
Centres are set up at the Group's headquarters as well
as its components comprise Sunway Medical Centre,
Sunway University College, Sunway Lagoon Club, Sunway Lagoon
Theme Park and Sunway Pyramid to provide a venue for Sunway
residents and members of the public to dispose their recyclables.
To encourage employee participation, the Group develops
a scheme to reward employees on a quarterly basis for
contributing the most recyclables.
