Sunway has revolutionised the way communities can realise growth from their properties by pioneering the “Build, Own, Operate” model in Malaysia. Sunway’s Property Investment and Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) divisions hold a portfolio of established properties that supports the communities’ lifestyle needs. The diversified portfolio of properties comprises office towers, university campuses, student hostels and accommodation, medical centres, retails, hotels and theme parks.
In Klang Valley, the division owns and/or operates five premium office buildings, namely Sunway Tower and Sunway Putra Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Menara Sunway and The Pinnacle Sunway in Sunway City, and Wisma Sunway in Shah Alam. In addition, the division owns the Sunway University campus and Monash University Malaysia campus as well as their student hostels and accommodations, and Sunway Medical Centre, all located in Sunway City.
The Pinnacle was completed in 2014, setting a new landmark in the Bandar Sunway and Subang vicinity. The 27-storey Grade A office tower dominates the skyline with its gleaming glass façade and pyramid shaped rooftop. In total, the Pinnacle offers net lettable space of 580,000 square feet.
It is the first office building in Sunway City to be accredited the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) status, with world-class working environment for its tenants, which serves as the physical location, and environment to catalyse and support the growth of Information and communications technology (ICT) and ICT-enabled industries to meet the needs of multinational companies and large corporations.
The Pinnacle has also been accredited with the Green Building Index (“GBI”) and Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (“BCA”) Green Mark Gold certifications. Among the energy and water saving features implemented are the use of high performance glazing, efficient chiller plant system and LED lights throughout the building. In addition, the building has a rainwater harvesting system that supplies water for irrigation and sanitary purposes. All building materials were also sourced locally, reducing the carbon footprint during construction, and trees previously on the site were relocated to nearby developments.
As Sunway grows and develops more integrated townships, Sunway’s commercial division will continue to play a crucial role in providing strategic and operational input to the consultants from master planning to detailed feasibility studies and facilities management.
