C.A.R.E Projects

“As a master community developer, we are committed to enriching the communities we build and serve through improved connectivity and accessibility, where people can live, learn, work, play in a healthy, safe and a connected environment.” – Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah, AO, Founder and Chairman of Sunway Group.

Our commitment to Social Responsibility is integral to the success of our 12 business divisions across 50 locations worldwide.

Sunway places the community at the forefront alongside many stakeholders by constantly working to foster a safer, healthier, happier and more caring society. We are building a brighter future for all Malaysians and creating a real difference for the underprivileged.

With the communities we serve throughout the nation in mind, Sunway continues to carry out a broad range of community projects through the Community Aid, Reach-out and Enrichment (C.A.R.E.) Projects, underscored by Sunway Group’s core values of Integrity, Humility and Excellence.

Under Community Aid, Sunway has made conscientious efforts towards social equality by constantly supporting and working alongside charitable bodies throughout the nation – particularly those that seek to make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged. Sunway has supported various non-profit community-driven organisations including Cryuff Court Iskandar, Sisters of the Infant Jesus Convent (IJC), and Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation among others through sponsorships, cash and in-kind contributions.

Our Reach-out programme touches the lives of the underprivileged through socio-economic projects with Sunway taking the lead in driving a host of humanitarian efforts, hosting various underprivileged communities during festive seasons through the “Light of Hope” programme, and preparing nutritious meals for the underserved to combat hunger under the Stop Hunger Now initiative.

In addition, we prioritise our communities by providing comfort and security, and by improving connectivity and accessibility through our Enrichment approach.

Besides pioneering the Safe City Initiative in 2001, Sunway has also invested more than RM300 million to improve the connectivity and accessibility around Sunway City including its landscaping, road expansions and infrastructure enhancements. We have co-invested in Malaysia’s first dedicated and elevated Bus Rapid Transit system (BRT–Sunway Line) that connects Sunway City with Setia Jaya KTM station and the LRT station in USJ7 effectively benefitting more than 500,000 commuters around Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya and USJ. This is the first Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between Sunway Berhad and Prasarana Malaysia Berhad.
