  • Sunway Group is the main sponsor of the Selangor Youth Community (SAY) IGNITE 2017 initiative.
  • Sunway Group is committing a total contribution of RM1 million in sponsorship both in cash and in kind towards the SAY IGNITE 2017 initiatives.

With 60% of Selangor residents under the age of 35, the importance of youth development cannot be underestimated within the state. As a Master Community Developer that values diversity and inclusiveness in the community, Sunway Group is the main sponsor of the Selangor Youth Community (SAY) IGNITE 2017 initiative.

Sunway Group executive vice-president of the president’s office and CEO of Sunway China Evan Cheah says Sunway is a SAY strategic partner as the former is attuned towards youth development, as evidenced through Sunway Group’s education arm and social responsibility programmes.

This effort is also in line with our commitment to sustainability, guided by the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Sunway Group is committing a total contribution of RM1 million in sponsorship both in cash and in kind towards the SAY IGNITE 2017 initiatives.

A non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organisation, SAY is the brainchild of its founder and patron, The Raja Muda of Selangor Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj.

The SAY IGNITE 2017 launch event featured workshops, plenary sessions, panel discussions, motivational talks and a talent competition. Plenary speakers comprised the Raja Muda of Selangor, CIMB Group Holdings Bhd group CEO Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz and PurelyB CEO Raja Jesrina Azlina Raja Arshad. Among the panelists were Leaderonomics’ Joseph Tan, Kakiseni president Low Ngai Yuen and social entrepreneur Zikry Kholil.

SAY IGNITE is aligned with the state’s Smart Selangor programme, as well as the Government-led Transformasi Nasional 2050 agenda that aims to transform Malaysia into a nation of calibre.
