Sunway Education Group and Sunway iLabs are hoisting themselves ahead of the pack with the recent launch of 42KL, in partnership with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). This collaboration is a glowing testimony to Sunway's efforts to heed digital transformation.

Sunway has become a model corporation in building smart, sustainable cities. Modeled on the example set by Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, it has led to transformations of townships across Malaysia such as Sunway City Ipoh and Sunway City Iskandar. While Sunway City Kuala Lumpur has garnered attention as a smart sustainable city, and is further exemplified as a living lab, one main feature of that often goes unnoticed.
Sunway, Celcom and Huawei Malaysia join hands to explore Malaysia’s first tripartite collaboration towards advancing smart township solution. The partnership will see the development in the areas of public safety and security, telehealth, e-learning, hospitality, leisure and retail experience with 5G connectivity. Sunway City Kuala Lumpur will be the “launch pad” of this ground-breaking partnership.
The Malaysian government is providing more incentives to accelerate cashless and contactless payments towards advancing digital economy. Sunway has also adopted a range of contactless and digital payment systems to encourage cashless transactions, in our bid for a more sustainable economy.
WHILE progress has been steady, Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah believes that there is still a long way to go before realising his dream of establishing Sunway University as ‘the Harvard or Cambridge of the East’.
