In the true spirit of giving, more than 300 underprivileged children from nine welfare homes across Selangor experienced a day filled with laughter, warmth and joy with Raya shopping and a host of exciting activities.

Adding a royal touch to this heartfelt occasion was a buka puasa gathering, graced by the presence of Her Royal Highness Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, alongside Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Sir Dr. Jeffrey Cheah KBE AO, some 100 Sunway volunteers from various business divisions as well as 60 Selangor Youth Community (SAY) volunteers, coming together to share love, kindness and festive cheer.

Volunteers accompanied the children to shop in Sunway Pyramid, followed by a range of activities such as Raya card making, origami arts and crafts, clown performance and a penalty shoot-out clinic by Selangor FC, before breaking fast at Sunway Resort Hotel.

Sinar Ramadan is a cherished tradition under #SunwayforGood. Each year, this flagship corporate social responsibility programme touches the lives of more than 20,000 beneficiaries nationwide, fostering the spirit of togetherness and community throughout the blessed month of Ramadan.

This initiative will see Sunway distributing bubur lambuk, buka puasa meals, groceries with daily essentials and food baskets to households and families in underprivileged communities nationwide.

Sunway Group chief brand strategy officer Nik Tasha Nik Kamaruddin said, “Sinar Ramadan represents Sunway’s continued commitment to spreading festive joy to underprivileged communities during the holy month of Ramadan.”

“Corporate Social Responsibility has always been a part of Sunway’s DNA and commitment to leave no one behind, as much as possible. As our founder and chairman Tan Sri Sir Dr. Jeffrey Cheah always says, no corporation can live apart from the community it serves,” added Nik Tasha.

#SunwayforGood is Sunway’s award-winning CSR initiative focused on delivering education, healthcare, and community enrichment programmes to underprivileged communities across the nation.

Since its inception, #SunwayforGood has positively impacted the lives of over half a million beneficiaries and aims to touch millions more throughout the nation in the years to come.
