Sunway Group Donates RM1 Million to Set Up #SunwayforGood Anjung Kasih YKN Hospital Seberang Jaya, Penang

The Sunway Group donated RM 1 million to set-up the SunwayForGood Anjung Kasih YKN Hospital Seberang Jaya in Penang.
Sunway Group signed a memorandum of agreement today with the Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN) which also saw the donation being handed over at the headquarters of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development in Putrajaya.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Tan Sri Datuk Seri Razman M Hashim, Sunway Group Deputy Executive Chairman and Datin Paduka Che Asmah Ibrahim, YKN Malaysia Chief Executive Officer. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Women, Family and Community Development YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Dr. Wan Ismail, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustee of the Yayasan Kebajikan Negara and Sunway Group Founder and Chairman YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah.
The SunwayForGood Anjung Kasih YKN Hospital Seberang Jaya is a building providing 80 beds for temporary accommodation for family members from underserved community group who are accompanying patients receiving treatments at the government hospitals. The restoration and refurbishment work is targeted to start work from April 2020 and complete by end October 2020.
Nationwide, there are about 12 Anjung Kasih YKN establishments currently in operations which has benefitted 75,299 people from underserved communities.

Also in attendance at the signing ceremony were Sunway Group Corporate Advisor YBhg. Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam, Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development Secretary General YBhg. Dato’ Junaidah Kamarruddin, Penang State Executive Councillor for agriculture, agro-based industries, rural development and health YB Dr. Afif Bahardin, Permatang Pauh Member of Parliament and Trustee of YKNM YB Puan Nurul Izzah Anwar, YKNM Board Members and Sunway Group Board Members
YKN also welcomes support from corporations and individuals. Monetary donations will be tax-exempted under Subsection 44 (6) of the Income Tax Act 1967.
