Healthcare

Malaysia’s Leading Healthcare Provider

Sunway Healthcare Group (SHG) is a leading integrated private healthcare group in Malaysia. Its flagship quaternary hospital Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City Kuala Lumpur (SCKL), was established in 1999. Since then, we have expanded its network to include tertiary hospitals Sunway Medical Centre Velocity, Cheras; and Sunway Medical Centre Penang. The three hospitals have a combined capacity of some 1730 beds and more than 400 specialist consultants.

We also operate ancillary healthcare businesses: Sunway Specialist Centre Damansara, Sunway Traditional and Complementary Medicine (TCM) Centre, Sunway Home Healthcare and Sunway Fertility Centre (Kuching). Additionally, we operate Sunway Sanctuary, which comprises 235 suites for senior living in Phase One, that sit right above Sunway Medical Centre at SCKL. As part of our expansion strategy to provide more communities with access to quality healthcare, SHG will increase our footprint all over Malaysia with tertiary hospitals in Damansara (Selangor), Iskandar Puteri (Johor), Ipoh (Perak), Kota Bharu (Kelantan), and a rehabilitation hospital in Paya Terubong (Penang). With this growth, we will have a combined capacity of over 3,000 beds in its network of hospitals by 2030.

We proactively support the nation’s agenda in raising healthcare standards in Malaysia by reaching out and educating the community on health issues and the importance of healthcare, in line with the vision of the Ministry of Health as well as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to achieve better health for all.

With the aim to shape the future of healthcare, we seek to enhance collaboration with renowned universities and hospitals in the domain of medicine and medical education. These include University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Sunway University, Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Royal Papworth Hospital, Royal College of Physicians, Harvard Medical School and The Royal College of Pathologists Australasia. The partnership with University of Cambridge, in particular, also includes recognising SHG’s Clinical Research Centre as the sole Regional Site Partner to conduct and coordinate clinical trials. With some of the nation’s most skilled and experienced healthcare professionals and state-of-the-art equipment among its network of hospitals, SHG aims to set new benchmarks for quality medical care in the region, serving thousands of international patients from over 170 countries.
