Sunway Construction Exceeds Full Year Target of RM1.5 Billion

Securing three separate tender wins amounting to RM496.8 million.

  • Sunway Construction Group Berhad (SunCon) today accepted three awards for projects worth a total of RM496.8 million in contract sum, exceeding its target of RM1.5 billion of order book replenishment for FYE 2019.

The total new projects awarded this year including the three projects awarded today amounts to RM1.536 billion which slightly surpasses SunCon’s target of RM1.5 million for 2019.

The first project award is from Petronas Management Training Sdn Bhd for the construction and completion of the Petronas Leadership Centre in Bangi with works amounting to RM310 million for the construction of a one-storey semi basement car park, four-storey institutional building, two guardhouses, a surau and other associated works and upgrading of ancillary buildings.

The second project award is from Sunway South Quay for a contract sum of RM119 million for the earthworks, bored pile foundation with secant pile and diaphragm retaining wall works in Sunway South Quay at Sunway City Kuala Lumpur.

The third project is from Oxley Rising Sdn Bhd for the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of the electrical and mechanical and electrical extra-low voltage system for its proposed mixed commercial development consisting service suites, hotels, and an office block in Jalan Ampang for a total contract sum of RM67.8 million.

“We are pleased to have met our target for the year well-ahead of the end of the year. We will continue to work to secure new contracts and move forward with our expansion strategy into ASEAN and India,” said Sunway Construction Group Berhad Managing Director Chung Soo Kiong.

Earlier this year, the company had signed a memorandum of understanding with Myanmar’s Capital Diamond Star Group in April, tendering for three rail and road projects in India where it was in, and ventured into piling in Singapore.
