- The JCF is Malaysia’s largest education-focused social enterprise, which to date, has disbursed a total of RM270 million in scholarships and awards.
The Jeffrey Cheah Foundation (JCF) awarded RM56 million in scholarships to deserving recipients at the JCF Scholarships and Awards Ceremony 2016.
The foundation’s largest annual disbursement to date will benefit a total of 500 recipients from different ethnicities and backgrounds.
The JCF Scholarships recognises high-achievers in academics, sports, music and extra-curricular activities.
The Jeffrey Cheah Travel Grants for Southeast Asia Studies at Harvard University were also given out at the awards ceremony.
Established in 2010, the JCF is Malaysia’s largest education-focused social enterprise aimed at awarding scholarships, research endeavours, travel grants and merit-based awards to individuals annually.
To date, the foundation has disbursed a total of RM270 million in scholarships and awards, with founding trustee Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah pledging to award RM1 billion in his lifetime.
