Sunway’s Recognition for Intensive Smoke-free Efforts

Recognition for Intensive Smoke-free Efforts

Sunway was awarded The Blue Ribbon Outstanding Achievement (Anugerah Pencapaian Cemerlang) at the Blue Ribbon Campaign 2014 Recognition and Awards ceremony held at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa.

Introduced by the Malaysian Health Promotion Board (MySihat), the Blue Ribbon Campaign recognise and honour significant roles contributed by people and organisation who save people’s lives from second hand smoke and advocating towards a 100% smoke-free environment.

Sunway’s smoke-free journey began in 2008 with its anti-smoking advocacy work through the introduction of the first charter paper on smoke-free zones; five Sunway-owned buildings including Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway University, Monash University Malaysia, Sunway Pyramid and Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa (with designated smoking areas) in Sunway City being gazetted as smoke-free establishments; and heightened awareness through the use of Sunway smoke-free collaterals such as badges, posters and signage within Sunway City.
